SUPPORT COURSES
Support Courses should be courses from one of the six categories below.
Math or Science courses should NOT be taken as a Support Course.
Two Viewing-A-Wider World (VWW) courses from two separate Colleges are required per NMSU degree requirements:

Support Courses include:
1. Communication: English writing, COMM 1215G, linguistics or journalism (ENGL 1110G, 2210G, or 2221G are not acceptable) ENGL 2310G (Introduction to Creative Writing) is acceptable and counts toward Gen Ed AREA VI, Creative Fine Arts
2. Humanities: Literature (including American English, foreign and comparative literature), history, religion, or philosophy
3. Social/Behavioral Sciences: Anthropology, psychology, economics, human geography, political science, or sociology (ECON 1110G is not acceptable)
4. Foreign Languages
5. Fine Arts: Selected courses in the history, appreciation and criticism of art, music, theatre, and dance
6. Health Promotion: First aid, nutrition, health, and physical education (no one-hour P.E. courses)
Students who wish to pursue the NMSU Bachelor of Individualized Studies (BIS) (Pre-Pharmacy) degree will need to choose 6 hours from the following: 3 hours from Gen Ed Area V; Humanities, with PHIL 1115G preferred; and 3 hours from Gen Ed Area VI, Creative Fine Arts. These requirements conform to NM General Education Requirements per NMSU degree requirements.
